Tony Leonardi - Manager, Lead Trumpet |
The sound of Tony’s trumpet has been heard from coast to coast, from California to New York, from Wisconsin to Florida. Most recently, he was the lead trumpet with Larry Lewis and Solid Smoke, until the untimely passing of Larry Lewis cut that gig short. He has played with Doc Severensen, Al Hirt, Maynard Ferguson, Chuck Mangione, and he even did an evening with B.B. King’s band in Memphis, Tennessee! He likes playing Jazz, Blues, Popular music, some Rock, and other types as well. This project, that he calls Fluid Motion, grew out of a long-standing dream to lead a horn band. The unique sound of this group of talented musicians is sure to take Albany by storm! We think, in fact, it’s the Best Damn Band in the Land! Experience the sound yourself – come hear Tony and the boys rock Albany |

Dick Nalbert - Sax
|
Born and raised in the greater Milwaukee area, Dick
has been playing saxophone pretty much his whole life. After high
school, Dick spent 6 years in the silent service (submarines) and then
attended Indiana University for one year as a music major, followed by 3
years at the University of Wisconsin leaving with a degree in chemical
engineering. Dick has played in everything from orchestras to big bands,
jazz groups and rock bands. What gets Dick charged up about being part
of Fluid Motion is being an integral part of a tight horn section while
also being able to rip off an improv sax solo whenever the opportunity
arises. Dick has heard the “but do you play flute?” question so many
times that he may just take that one on. Dick’s influences include sax
players ranging from Johnny Hodges, Ben Webster, Paul Desmond, Stan
Getz, Junior Walker, Cannonball Adderley, Bud Shank and Phil Woods to
sax players he has studied with over the last several years at the
University of Louisville summer jazz improve camps including Antonio
Hart and Greg Fishman. |
